About the 2025 Conference
The conference will be held at the Hotel Saskatchewan, which offers historic charm in the heart of downtown. Originally built in 1927, the hotel is in proximity to many of Regina’s attractions including the beautifully landscaped Wascana Centre Park where the Saskatchewan Science Centre, MacKenzie Art Gallery, and Royal Saskatchewan Museum—home to the world’s largest T-Rex dinosaur, Scotty—is located. Wascana Centre is also home to the Saskatchewan Legislative Building, which offers tours in both English and French, and its Queen Elizabeth II Gardens.

Did you know the pronunciation of ‘Regina’ is a colloquialism of Reh-GEE-na, which is Latin for queen? Yes, Queen Victoria’s daughter, Princess Louise, who was wife of the fourth Governor General of Canada declared a future Queen’s City to be built in honour of her mother in the late 19th century. At that time, Regina served as the administrative headquarters of the Northwest Territories until 1905, when Saskatchewan became a province in that year.

Regina is also home to Canada’s RCMP Training Academy and Heritage Centre where Mounties have trained since 1885. We plan to have conference attendees experience this historic landmark.

In addition, we’re excited to show off our province’s natural beauty by visiting the scenic Qu’Appelle Valley and its winery north of Regina on the Sunday before the conference starts. For those of you who are able to stay and visit Saskatchewan for a little longer, there are several parks to hike, camp, canoe, fish, golf, and indulge in the land of living skies, such as at Grasslands National Park in the very south to Wanuskewin Heritage Park in Saskatoon.

Or put a watermelon on your head when you cheer on the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Mosaic Stadium with Gainer the Gopher! We in Saskatchewan are famous across Canada for being some of the most passionate fans of the CFL—Go Riders!
